The Big Kahuna

The Big Kahuna is our ultimate helicopter tour! Taking around an hour this tour takes in the Sussex coastline, the Sussex, Surrey and Kent countryside, Brands Hatch, a tour through the heart of London following the Thames and finally a flight over the top of Gatwick Airport (ATC permitting). This kind of trip needs a special kind of helicopter and we fly this in a powerful AS350 "single squirrel" helicopter. This flight costs £1,300 and seats up to 6 passengers.

This tour is available 7 days a week, subject to weather and machine/pilot availability. Weight limits apply. Check out the flight highlights and flight itinerary on the right of this page.Check out the flight highlights and flight itinerary.

Brighton City (Shoreham) Airport is arguably the best airfield in the UK to start a flight experience. The stunning views of the coastline, the piers on the Brighton seafront, the white cliffs, the rolling Sussex Downs - all make the airfield head and shoulders above others for a flying experience.

And there's still more to see once your helicopter lands. Brighton City (Shoreham) Airport's historic grade III listed art deco terminal building takes you back to the days when flying was the height of sophistication and is home to the excellent Hummingbird cafe. Picturesque Shoreham-by-Sea is a 10 minute walk from the airfield with an excellent selection of bars and restaurants some with views over the river Adur and out to sea.

PLEASE NOTE: When booking a tour you are booking the helicopter for your own private use (not just a seat on a flight with others). If your party does not fill the aircraft the cost of the tour does not change as it is based on the running cost of the helicopter, not the number of seats occupied.

  • I took my wife for her first ever helicopter flight. Being the birthday girl (80) it was only natural she sat beside the pilot John Davies. Fortunately the weather was sunny with very good visibility. John pointed out all the points of local interest to us. (we all loved the little dinky cars below !! ) We flew in a westerly direction and finally overflew our home at Littlehampton then along the coast back to Shoreham.. What a grand experience. A very friendly and professional service . We will do this again. Soon!!

Flight Itinerary

This flight departs Brighton City (Shoreham) Airport and heads east along the seafront passing Brighton & Hove, Brighton Marina, Newhaven, Seaford Bay, The Seven Sisters & Beachy Head before heading north across the South Downs.

The flight continues over the weald of Sussex before reaching the Kent border. Brands Hatch is next on the itinerary before the helicopter heads towards Greenwich and Canary Wharf to join the heli lanes along the Thames.

Continuing into the heart of the city you pass Tower Bridge, The Tower of London, The City of London and the iconic Gerkin, The Shard, The London Eye and the House of Parliament.

And these are just the sights on the river. Let your eye wander further back and there's so much more to take in.

At Fulham's football stadium the flight turns South heading into Surrey. Your pilot will talk to Gatwick and try to arrange to cross the airfield. A surreal sight with massive 747s looking like toy planes moving below you.

Finally you'll be back in Sussex with the South Downs on the horizon and the sea beyond. The river Adur guides us back to the airfield and the end of the trip of a lifetime.
