Go West

The Go West helicopter tour does what it says! The tour leaves Shoreham and heads north then west to take in the South Downs and Chanctonbury ring. After seeing Amberley Castle the tour follows the river Arun to view the stunning castle and cathedral in Arundel. The flight reaches the coast between Littlehampton and Bognor Regis and turns back east towards the airfield taking in Littlehampton and Worthing en-route. This flight costs £350 and carries up to three passengers in an R44 helicopter.

Unlike our  helicopter experience flights the Go West can be taken any day of the week subject to weather and machine/pilot availability. Weight limits apply.

Shoreham Airfield is arguably the best airfield in the UK to start a scenic pleasure flight. The stunning views of the coastline, the piers on the Brighton seafront, the white cliffs, the rolling Sussex Downs - all make Shoreham Airfield head and shoulders above many other isolated, windswept airfields in the UK.

And your experience is not over once your helicopter lands! Shoreham Airport's 1930's art deco main terminal building takes you back to the days when flying was the height of sophistication and is home to the excellent Hummingbird cafe. If you want a special meal then there are various fine restaurants in Shoreham-by-Sea (a 10 minute walk from the airfield).

The lead member of the group will be presented with a souvenir USB memory stick containing professionally taken high resolution photos of Brighton and the Sussex countryside. This ensures that everyone can sit back and enjoy the trip safe in the knowledge that you've already got some stunning photos to show your friends and family.

PLEASE NOTE: When booking a tour you are booking the helicopter for your own private use (not just a seat on a flight with others). If your party does not fill the aircraft the cost of the tour does not change as it is based on the running cost of the helicopter, not the number of seats occupied.

  • John was a warm and friendly pilot pointing out interesting landmarks. We flew around the South downs and along the coast on the go west trip. The biggest disappointment for us was having to return to the airport . I would recommend at least 30 mins as the time flew by (excuse the pun!)
